The Magic Benefits of Dry Brushing
Our skin is known as the body’s largest organ and it eliminates waste through the pores. Dry skin brushing is a beauty and health practice that can be a great way to support skin health, appearance, circulation, and relaxation.
The method itself is incredibly easy and only takes a few minutes, but there are a few guidelines you have to keep in mind. We tell you all the things you need to know about dry brushing.
The benefits of dry body brushing:
– it buffs away dead skin
– it increases blood circulation and tightens the skin
– it stimulates the lymph flow
– it opens up the pores
– your body can get rid of metabolic waste and toxins
– it can help with digestive issues and skin problems like acne
– it can reduce cellulite
– it supports muscle tone
– it boosts the immune system
– you feel more energized after brushing
– it will make your skin glow
– after brushing, any body treatment you apply will penetrate your body better
How to do it:
1. Don’t get wet. Your skin and the brush should be dry, so the ideal time is in the shower before you turn on the water.
2. Start brushing at your feet and work your way up your legs one at a time. Then move up to your mid-section and across your chest. Brush in long smooth strokes over your butt and thighs. Then move up across your chest. Always brush toward the heart area where the lymph system drains. Finish by brushing your arms up toward your armpits. On your stomach, you should direct the brush counterclockwise.
3. Don’t brush too hard: Your skin should be stimulated but not irritated or even become red. Do this routine a few times per week and it will help to break down the fatty deposits that cause the dimpled appearance.
Which brush do you need?
Always use a plant bristle body brush, from coconut husks or from the agave plant (called sisal). It provides the best exfoliation and stimulation for your skin. They are the highest quality, long lasting, and they don’t scratch the skin.
Please note:
– Always brush on dry skin with dry brush bristles.
– Clean your brush regularly!
– Never brush over inflamed skin, open wounds, inflamed sores, varicose veins, or sun-burnt skin.
